I didn’t make goals for March, but I am making goals for April. With starting my new job, I’ll need to set myself intentional goals if I want to get anything done. I’m being kept very busy so I’m pretty tired in the evenings, but I still want to go for it with my blog. There’s also a few other things I really want to start doing, so it’s important that I make time for everything.
So let’s jump in and review my February goals and then see what April has in store for me.
GET A JOB
Yes! After three months of soul-sucking job searching, I found a job through a graduate recruitment agency and I started last week. I am so so grateful for this opportunity to start my career in exactly the place I want to be. I can’t wait to see where this journey takes me.

I didn’t do this but I still really want to. I’m going to roll this goal over to April.
REACH 500 FOLLOWERS ON INSTAGRAM
Nope. The strategy I’ve got is working for me, but Instagram has changed its algorithm YET AGAIN. It’s becoming even harder to get organic reach and to be honest, I can’t really be bothered with it. I know I’m not alone when I say that it’s such a shame that all this hard work feels like it’s for nothing. So instead of obsessing over how many followers I’m gaining and losing, I’m just ignoring it. I’m posting when I want to, when I feel inspired, and I’m not putting pressure on myself either.
POST MORE SELFIES/PICTURES OF MYSELF
Yes! I definitely got more confident with posting pictures of myself on my Instagram. I think it’s a really great way for my followers to get to know me more. Come and say hi!
SELL OLD CLOTHES ON DEPOP
Instead of Depop, I decided to list my clothes on Vinted. I haven’t made a sale yet but at least I’ve got the hard bit done. It was effort taking all the photos and doing the edits but that was the main hurdle that I’ve been trying to get over the past couple of months. Plus, with Vinted, I get to keep all of the profit. Let’s hope that someone wants to buy my stuff!
NO SPEND FOR TWO MONTHS ON MAKE UP AND ANIMALS
I did one month no problem, but I fell at the last hurdle. As soon as I heard that I got a job, I treated myself. I needed some new concealer anyway which was allowed because I ran out but it was 3 for 2 when I got to the shop and I had to take advantage of that offer. In terms of my animals, I wanted to grab extras of the essentials before I start work so I’m not ever caught short. And it was the gerbils’ birthday 23rd March so I had to get them a present. Obviously. Love my boys.
ESTABLISH MORNING AND NIGHT ROUTINES
I haven’t had to get up early for the past three months so it’s going to be important for me to establish good routines for the morning and evening. I want to start reading my bible more in the mornings and doing my exercises and I am awful at settling down to go to sleep at night, so I’m going to be switching out Netflix for a book. Not to mention the bad dreams have started coming back and I always dream vividly when I’m stressed and really tired.

As above. There’s more about this goal in my February Goals.
READ MORE BLOG POSTS
Part of the community of blogging is reading each other’s posts. I can’t expect people to read my posts if I’m not putting myself out there and giving some love to my fellow bloggers’ some love. I also really love reading what other people have to say and getting new recommendations for beauty products to try, places to go and books to read. Since I’ve started making more effort over on Twitter, I want to start sharing some of my favourite posts so that you can you can read them too!
SPEND MORE TIME OUTSIDE
Praise the Lord because I now get weekends off. The job I’m in right now is literally the best case scenario. Apart from the fact that I’ve got hardly any holiday to take due to not being employed for the first three months of the year, I can look forward to doing fun things every weekend if I want to. With Summer on its way – hooray! – I want to spend more time outside. Plus, it’ll give me more opportunies to take photos!
HEALTHY SNACKS MONDAY TO THURSDAY
I need to snack. I just can’t help it. When I worked in retail, I tried this thing where I didn’t have any unhealthy snacks (chocolate, sweets, cake and biscuits that weren’t part of my lunch) Monday – Thursday and then I treated myself over the weekend. I enjoyed doing this, so I’m going to try again! So for the post past of the week I’ll be eating biscuits and rice cakes, and on a Friday, I can buy myself a cheeky bag of chocolate buttons (after Easter’s finished, of course…)!

I think that’s enough to be getting on with for the time being! Let’s check back at the end of April to see if I achieved any of them. Have you set any goals this month!
