We are over halfway through 2017 now, whaaaat?! Where has the time gone? I just can’t get my head around it.
At the beginning of the year, I made a list of intentional goals and today I’m looking over them to see how I’m progressing. These goals were designed to give me purpose this year, particularly as I arrived in 2017 unemployed.
2017 GOALS UPDATE
Update my blog | I have already made a lot of updates that I’m really happy with and I did go back to a mint green colour scheme as I had predicted. Now I’m thinking I’d like to freshen things up.
Write 100,000 words of fiction | I was doing so well with this goal and wrote a solid 6568 words in just a few months. But then I got a job (Praise the Lord) and I haven’t touched it since. I really want to meet this goal because writing is my biggest passion, so I’m going to make it a priority for the second half of the year. Especially with NaNoWriMo in November!
Get in shape | I was doing very well with my weight, diet, and exercise, but I didn’t realise how much a desk job was going to affect my body. And while I was really enjoying the exercise class I was a part of, it wasn’t enough for me. So Joel and I joined the gym. We are going at least twice a week and I’m really enjoying it so far. Now we get to do something together and I can’t wait to see the results. I’m also making way better choices when I eat and as well as feeling good about myself, I’m trying new things!
No spend for four months | I did so well with this goal, and then I got my job, hehe. To be fair to myself, I am doing well with budgeting my money, but I have only done two no spends. There are still five and a bit months to complete this goal. In August I’m taking a no spend from beauty products.
Read 24 books | No. I started this goal, and then I discovered PLL on Netflix. Need I say more?
Eat at 10 (or more!) new restaurants | Yes, I’m well on my way to achieving this goal! To be honest, I haven’t been keeping track of the numbers but I’ve eaten at many new places so far this year, I know that I’ll meet it. I started a food Instagram so you should follow my food adventures there!
Hike 10 times | I got myself some walking boots and a waterproof jacket! Joel and I have been walking a few times, and we even went to the Peak District for my birthday weekend to hike. I’ve fallen in love with it and I really want to do it more – but I haven’t been counting them. It’s hard to determine a ‘hike’ when you haven’t really got many *mountains* around.
Improve my photography | I definitely saw improvements with this goal and it even got me on a few PR lists! I need to do more!
Overall, I’m actually doing ok with my 2017 goals. There are definitely some that I need to work on and I know that once my busy Summer is over that I’ll be able to focus on them more.
Did you set any goals for 2017? How are you doing with them?
