Best of 2017

est of 2017_ Blog Post Graphic

As 2017 draws to a close, lots of bloggers will be rounding up all their most popular posts. I’m not even going to try and pretend that I have enough views to do that so instead, I’m going to document my favourite posts from each month in case you missed them. I’m also going to be sharing my favourite Instagram posts from throughout the year. Take a read.

JANUARY

I’m Supporting These Cruelty-Free Make Up Brands In 2017 – The reason I love this post is because for once, it was actually intentional. I did support all of the crutelty-free brands I mentioned, and more.

10 Things To Do When You’re Feeling Down – Knowing that I usually get my January blues later than said month, I wrote this post as a preparation for February and it’s been on of my favorites to this date. Not only is it a good ol’ list but each thing I’ve suggested is intentional.

10 More Things To Do When You’re Feeling Down – I loved writing the first post so much that I wrote a sequal to it. If nothing you tried from the frist list cheered you up, try one of these.

The Best Places To Find Free Stock Photos – I started a blog knowing absolutely nothing, learning everything myself (the power of research!). Something I’ve been toying with for a while is writing a series for the ‘beginner blogger’ to show that anyone and everyone could started a blog if they wanted to. This post was the start of putting my knowledge back into writiing and it was received quite well.

MARCH

Since I’ve started wearing make up, I have realised the importance of a good skincare routine to keep my skin clean and protected. I’ve tried a lot of products but I am absolutely obsessed with the new routine I’ve settled into – I can see this working for me in the long term! My skin is soft and smooth; I have little blemishes even though I’m at the dreaded time of the month; and my make up is lasting for longer without going oily. Plus, all these products are cruelty-free! If you haven’t tried these yet, you must. I’m going to be sharing a more in-depth review of my new routine on the blog soon so look out for that! 🌿 • Morning: @thebodyshop – Anti-imperfection Daily Solution @officialbbeauty – Moisture Gel Night: @thebodyshop – Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner @officialbbeauty – Day Cream

A New Season – After I quit my job in retail this time last year, it took me 3 months to find another. I wrote this post on how I was starting this new season in my life. I have to say it’s been one of my proudest moments this year.

My Skincare Routine – I devled into a little bit of beauty blogging this year and this post got me my first ever opportunity with PR. Superdrug reached out to me, sent me a couple of products to try and even invited me to an event. It just goes to show that if you work hard enough for something, you will reap the rewards.

APRIL

Let Go and Let God | #FearlessFriday – This series was one of my few successes in 2016 and even though I haven’t made it a regular this year, I was thrilled that my friend Kaitlan offered her testimony how she came to trust in God.

MAY

Some Thoughts On The Manchester Attack – The news of the attack at the Ariana Grande concert in May hit me hard for a few reasons. And after I poured my heart out in a post, I made 10 promises to myself.

JUNE

The Perfect Summer Foundation – After the PR event I attended with Superdrug, I brought home lots of new cruelty-free make up items to try. The foundations I received solved all my make up problems during the warmest months of the year. I’d highly recommend them.

JULY

Returning To The Blogosphere – In this post I wrestled with the idea of giving up blogging for good.

AUGUST

The Pip Box First Impressions – I reached out to The Pip Box, a cruelty-free beauty box, and asked if I could review a box on my blog. It’s so great to see a company championing small businesses and making a stand against testing on animals. If you like the idea of recieving some cruetly-free beauty treats each month, I’d encourage you to sign up.

SEPTEMBER

Currently Vol. 6 – I revamped the way I write my ‘currently’ posts to replicate more of a journal style. I’m going to love being able to look back and see how I’ve changed.

Autumn 2017 Bucket List – I’ve made Summer bucket lists for a few years now, and this was the first year I made one for Autumn. I intended to take advantage of the things the season had to offer, and I think I almost managed it.

OCTOBER

Our Wedding | Less Than One Year To Go – We’re officially counting down! In this post I chatted about different aspects of the wedding, our progress and all the things we’re looking forward to.

The Happy Journal Vol. 10 – After a fabulously Autumny weekend, I journaled about it on the blog. It was one of my favourite weekends I’ve had this year.

NOVEMBER

On Remembering What My Passions Are – Last month, I rekindled my love for writing and wrote a heartfelt piece on creativity. I intended to take part in NaNoWriMo, which, like most other things, turned out to be a flop. But it was important for me to spend some of my time that month excersing my greatest passion and generating new ideas.

And that’s a wrap on THJ’s best posts of 2017. I’ve loved putting this together.
Now, I’d better get a start on my 2018 blogging plans.
