The Happy Journal

I’m really pleased to be bringing back my happy journal weekly posts because it’s so healthy to focus on the positive things that have happened to us rather than dwelling on the negative things that do not build us up. Of course, it’s also important to take a lot of the negatives in our lives so that we can learn from them, but here at The Happy Journal, I make it my mission to dedicate a time each week to list my happy thoughts.

20TH JUNE – 26TH JUNE

– Last week I had two little arrivals! Perkin (black) and Benny (grey) are Mongolian gerbil brothers who have joined the Palmer household. As I’ve mentioned before, I’ve been begging my parents to allow me to have pets for years and since I work in a pet shop, I’ve been able to do a lot of research on certain small animals. I chose these little guys because they are more active in the day and are easier to handle. They are both very funny and make me laugh a lot.

– I moved into my new room. I’m very happy to finally have my own space and it’s so much bigger than the room I’ve had at home for over five years. It’s lovely and light and I’ve even got a desk now. I still need to move in my things from university and finish decorating it, but it’s nearly there.

– Since moving home, I’ve started to meet up with my old friends. Megan and I went to the local tea room for lunch and cake. Then, afterwards, I got to go to hers to meet her guinea pigs. They are VERY hairy!

– My sister and I have started a new exercise class called DDMIX, which was created by Darcy Bussell and incorporates lots of different dance styles. I’m hoping to start going twice a week after next month’s pay. Wedding body, here I come.

  • That workout class sounds like fun. I love to dance, so any workout that incorporates that is awesome. Your gerbils are super cute!

    • I use to go to the gym but it was making me so depressed to go – sounds silly but I dreaded it so much that I used to get a knot in my stomach before going – but now I look forward to going to exercise! Thanks, they are also super cheeky!
