Hello 2018

Hello 2018. I’ve been waiting a really long time for you, and I can’t believe that you are finally here.

Anyone else highly satisfied that 2018 begins on a Monday?

Hello 2018_ Blog Post Graphic

2017 felt like a whirlwind because of all the exciting things that happened. You can read my 2017 highlights post here. This year, I’m really hoping that time goes by slowly enough for me to relish it. But judging by the last few months, which disappeared into the distance as I blinked, that’s not going to happen.

So I’m going to try and document everything instead. When I launched this blog, two years ago to the day, I spoke of yearning to live intentionally. I wanted and still want to make choices consciously. To live with purposefulness, while getting the very best out of life. Savouring the big things yet remembering to appreciate the little things. I still crave authenticity and I still want to continue to be honest and open to the people around me, as well as myself.

But do I think my blog has reflected that within its second year? I’m not sure.

I did write a couple of posts last year that are really paramount to the type of content I want to create such as ‘Remembering What My Passions are’, ‘A New Season’ and ‘Returning to the Blogosphere’ but I know that I have so much more to share. I’ve only scratched the surface with all that I want to do with my blog.

But I’m all for a fresh start so as of today, January 1st, I’m kicking myself into gear. I’m pretty sure I said this last year (and probably the year before that, and beyond) but 2018 is going to be a completely different story.

Above all, this year is going to be a year of change. There are going to be a lot of first times and new experiences for me. I’m getting married this year. I’m going to leave this year a completely different woman to the one who entered and I’ll be making completely different life choices.

It’s important for me to not only acknowledge the changes that are going to happen this year, but prepare for them. Under pressure, I crumble. If I haven’t got plan, then it’s chaos. Though I fail miserably (let’s try and be positive about this), I’ll be trying my utmost to be organised. That means booking things in way in advance to make sure I do everything I need to (and it’s always nice to have things to look forward to, right?).

I’m working on a couple of projects right now, and there will be a big change coming to my blog if I can find the time to devote to it, which is really exciting. As well as that, I want to be bringing more wedding content to my blog. This platform is where I can use my voice and record my thoughts in the form of a diary for me to look back on when I’m older. Let’s make sure I have content to look back on and smile about.

I’m excited to see what 2018 has in store.
