November Goals

Wow, November. Hello.

November Goals 2017

I’m absolutely refusing to believe that we are almost done with 2017. I’m getting married in nine months. Nine months. Time is going by at the speed of light. I’m so glad that last month I decided to be more intentional with setting out my goals. It’s been successful and I’ve felt more like I’ve been living with purpose; it definitely paid off to only set a few easy goals.

Let’s review those goals, and then see what November has in store for me.

Make a self-care checklist | Yes! I’ll be posting my October list at the end of this week. Spoiler alert: I seriously failed! I better start writing one for November.

Prepare for NaNoWriMo | Yes! I feel very prepared to smash out a huge writing goal this month. I’ve got ideas for two projects, so that I can swap between them as and when I run out of inspiration.

Plan out all my Christmas shopping | Sort of. Joel and I put a budget plan in place to be able to afford everyone’s gifts, but we’re still not sure what to get everybody. Small steps!

Read and comment on one blog post per week | Yes! I made at least one comment and I actually added a few blogs to my Feedly list to read each day. Here were some of my favourites throughout October: An Enthusiasm For; Notes From Joanna; Sophie Cliff; Hannah Gale.

Smash out 50,000 words of fiction | I’m taking part in NaNoWriMo this year which challenges writers to write a 50,000 word novel. I’m so excited about this, and since I prepared for this in October, I’m feeling confident about it. With an average of around 1,667 words a day, it’s time to bring to life a novel idea I’ve been sitting on for years.

Organise my blog post ideas | I feel like my blog post is all over the place at the moment, so I want to be able organise my ideas into categories to give myself a clearer focus for 2018.

Become an early riser | Any of my family reading this will probably be laughing at the idea of me getting up early. However, I’ve tried getting up at 6:45am for the past few days and spending 45 minutes working on a writing project. So far, I’m feeling much more productive. I love the idea of getting up early and getting loads done, but it’s never worked out for me before because I love my bed so much. Let’s see if I can create a new habit in November.

And there you have it, three simple goals to get me through this month. We’ll be thinking about Christmas soon!

Have you got any goals for November? How will you be spending the penultimate month of 2017?
